"Margaret Dayton has served very capably in the House of Representatives," said Utah State Senate President John L. Valentine today. "She is a major asset to her constituents, and certainly to the Legislature as a whole.

"Representative Dayton's proactive stance with regard to No Child Left Behind has been magnetic and effective, as evidenced by the fact that every other state in the nation has followed Utah's lead, and Margaret unquestionably led Utah's charge in the matter. But she's not just a one-issue legislator. She has many other worthwhile legislative interests, which she pursues very effectively."

"I'm pleased that Margaret has chosen to run, and I surely endorse her candidacy. She'll be a valuable member of Utah's State Senate. I look forward to serving with her," said Valentine.
